Rediscover some of the simple pleasures that life has to offer.
Although more laid-back than Bali’s other tourist destinations, there are many things to do in Sanur. It essentially remains a traditional Balinese village with a number of historically relevant temples and a famous stretch of sunrise coastline. Apart from different water sports, Sanur has a growing wellness scene, special cycling routes and even camel rides along the beach.
To experience Sanur up close and personal, it is best to venture out on foot. A pathway runs for several kilometres alongside the beach passing a number of classic hotels that date back to the 1960’s. The Le Mayeur Museum is a well-known local site of interest. It houses a collection of works by a Belgian painter who made Sanur his home long before Bali’s first tourists.
